You Can Be Your Own Mystic

It’s been two months since we launched Inside Out: A Journey of the Soul.

This book was three decades in the making. For most of that time, I never imagined I would share it with the world.

Then I lost everything.

What remained were the stories, the questions, the experiences, and the deeper understanding that had been gathering in me for decades.

The themes of love and loss, success and failure, and the ordinary moments that quietly shape a life are the same themes I continue to encounter in my Soul Sessions and in the conversations I’ve been having on podcasts.

Recently, I had the opportunity to join Soul Contracts with Gellyahnah Aakhen, a podcast exploring heartbreak, loss, major life transitions, and the deeper questions of soul purpose and destiny.

I also joined The Emily the Mystic Show, where Emily invited me to do a live Soul Session reading for her on the show. It was the first time I had done a reading in that setting and it was a first time for her too. Stay tuned for the episode to be released but I’m grateful for the experience.

These conversations have brought me back to something I’ve believed for a very long time:

Everyone can be their own mystic.

You don't have to be a psychic. You don't have to study ancient texts. You don't need to have a special title.

If you can meditate or pray, you can begin to listen.

If you can become quiet enough to notice the voice within you, you can begin to recognize the guidance of your spiritual guides.

And when we learn to listen, we can begin to bring the light and love of the spiritual world into our physical lives.

This is what I mean by mysticism made simple.

Plato wrote about the spiritual world as the original reality, with the physical world as a reflection of it. Whether you understand that literally, spiritually, or simply as a metaphor, I think the idea invites an interesting question:

What if there is more happening beneath the surface of our everyday lives than we realize?

Even The Wizard of Oz can be viewed through a mystical lens. Beneath its colorful story is a journey of transformation, courage, self-discovery, and finding what we were looking for within ourselves all along.

Mysticism doesn't have to be frightening or complicated.

Sometimes, it begins with simply becoming still enough to truly listen.

If you have a question about your own journey, I'd love to hear from you. You can book a Soul Session.

Thank you for your encouragement, your conversations, and your willingness to walk this journey with me.

Many of you have been part of this long before there was ever a finished manuscript. I'm grateful.

With gratitude,

Leon Aryah Lewis
